The hands-on ultrasound simulation training courses on cardiac anomalies offer a comprehensive and practical approach to mastering the diagnosis of congenital heart defects. By combining high-fidelity simulation with expert guidance, this course provides an unparalleled learning experience, preparing medical professionals to deliver accurate and timely diagnoses in their clinical practice. There will be 2 course days for different audiences. Registration for both days is of course also possible.

DAY 1

This one-day intensive course provides participants with a solid foundation in fetal cardiac ultrasound. Through a combination of theoretical lectures and practical, simulation-based training, attendees will learn to recognize normal fetal cardiac anatomy and identify the most frequent congenital heart anomalies encountered during prenatal screening. The hands-on sessions, conducted with high-fidelity ultrasound simulators, will allow participants to gain realistic scanning experience under expert supervision.

Learning Objectives

  • To review normal fetal cardiac anatomy and standard cardiac planes.

  • To recognize the most common congenital heart defects encountered in the prenatal period.

  • To develop practical scanning skills using ultrasound simulators.

  • To interpret fetal heart images and differentiate normal from abnormal findings.

DAY 2

This advanced one-day course is designed for participants who are already confident in assessing common cardiac defects and wish to enhance their diagnostic skills for more complex congenital heart diseases. It is intended for those who have already mastered the fundamental skills of fetal cardiac screening.

The program focuses on the detailed evaluation of complex congenital heart defects, with particular emphasis on differential diagnosis, an essential component for accurate interpretation and appropriate prenatal counseling.

Through interactive lectures and high-fidelity simulation sessions, participants will refine their diagnostic accuracy and learn structured approaches for case interpretation and prognostic definition.

Learning Objectives

  • Acquire a systematic approach to the prenatal diagnosis of cardiac defects.

  • Review complex fetal cardiac anomalies and their characteristic ultrasound features.

  • Develop the ability to perform accurate differential diagnoses.

  • Adapt management strategies and parental counseling based on precise diagnoses.
